Auto Racing (11 - 20)
What do Monaco, Budapest, Hungary and Antibes, France all have in common? Well, for one they were each the site of a famous automobile race and are featured in some of the world's most popular vintage art posters. Artists like Geo Ham, Gerard and Leuenberger beckon to automobile racing fans and travelers alike to visit these exciting European locales. Geo Ham, the artist responsible for many of the auto racing posters, including the Grand Prix advertising art posters, is known for his bold & colorful race cars, often Ferarris in red and blue. A very popular and well know example of Geo Ham's artistry is the A.C.F. poster of 1937. It features a blue Ferrari race car flying along so fast it seems the wheels float above the road! The 24 Heures du Mans in 1961 also features a Ferrari. Unlike most of Geo Ham's images, this artist shows the red Ferrari from behind as it races away from the viewer. One of the more interesting vintage art posters is the "Grand Prix Automobile Meeting d'Aviation" at Nimes, France May 31st and June 1st 1947. An airplane flys just above two race cars...what more could you ask for? All of these fabulous auto racing art posters are avail. as giclee reproductions on canvas or paper. Order them custom framed for a sharp look.
