During the 20's and 30's modern photography was not as attainable as it is in presend day, therefore the travel industry relied on the talents of such artists as Erickson to give customers a glimpse of the beauty of their chosen destination. Many of Erickson's canvas artwork captures the spirit of Hawaii and the landmarks of such memorable cities as the New York skyline or the Eiffel Tower in France. Because of those minor details, Erickson is able to capture a large audience from the travel buff, historian, and sea captain to the aviation industry enthusiast.
