Vintage Art Steamships and Ships Sailing --Oh, what a sight it must have been to be standing on the port to watch the vintage steamships of the Great Cunard and Queen Elizabeth or Queen Mary of yesteryear come to town. In the early twentieth century, the giant cruise vessels were a means of intercontinental travel, before air travel became prevalent. Steamships were fast, yet practical as passengers and cargo could quickly sail across ocean to reach foreign destinations of Europe, the Orient, and the Cunard to Canada, Holland to America, and from Africa to the West Indies on the famous Elder Dempster Lines.
