L'Algerie Africa Travel Poster Fine Art Giclee Print
This is a rare fine art giclee print of a vintage Africa Travel tourism advertising poster by Pierre Commarmond. This scenic poster shows the land-sea link for travelers going from France to Northern Africa. For travelers on their way from central France to Northern Africa, the land-sea link could not have been easier. With the train station right on the harbor, you stopped for the night at the station hotel, then stepped right on board the next morning for ' the fastest crossing on the gentlest waters.' The star of this poster is the mountainscape turning orange and brick in the luminous mauve twilight. Commarmond was a landscape painter from Lyon who specialized in mountain and ocean views.
