The Sopwith Camel Photo Giclee Art Print

This is a high quality fine art giclee photography print of a picture taken by photographer Gary Asbury featuring "The Sopwith Camel". The Sopwith Camel was a British World War I single-seat biplane, put in action on the western front in 1917. The Camel was a marvel of engineering. It coupled a short fuselage, a powerful rotary engine and twin synchronized machine guns. This biplane had some issues in certain flight characteristics. Students of the aircraft often did not like the torsion effect of the engine in left turns, despite this the Camel proved to be a very maneuverable craft. Once mastered the Camel became a powerful tool in combat. This aircraft is reported to have shot down 1,294 enemy aircraft, out gunning all other aircraft in the period. For a ready to hang delivery check out our custom framing and or stretched canvas options.
