This is a rare reproduction of a vintage Men's fashion advertising poster by Joseph Leyendecker for Kuppenheimer Mens Dress Clothes. Three men of different age ranges preparing for a day on the golf course in their sophisticated Kuppenheimer clothing. Leyendecker 1931. As if there was ever any doubt, Leyendecker rolls out this trio heading out for a day on the links, clearly showing that no matter what recreational activity youre indulging in or into what age bracket you happen to fall, Kuppenheimer can dress you in style. Although he was one of Americas favorite illustrators and trend setters in graphic design, Leyendecker remained an intensely private person throughout his life. He was born in Germany of Dutch ancestry and brought to the United States at the age of eight with his family who settled in Chicago. He studied at the Chicago Art Institute while apprenticing as an engraver; from the age of twenty he made his living as an illustrator. His creations for mens fashions represented a revolutionary achievement: his drawings became synonymous with elegance in America.
