Wilhelm Braun Snow Ski Gear Giclee Print
Stopping for a moment to cool off the overheated cross-country skier gives us a chance to admire the cut and fit of his custom-made Braun clothes. Along with his arresting pose, the dropped-out whites of his sweater, hat and gloves draw our attention. Son of the Swiss portrait painter Franz Moos, Carl grew up in Munich, where he started out as a newspaper illustrator. Between 1907 and 1914 he produced many fine posters, mostly designs and strong solid colors we see here. At the outbreak of World War 1 he moved to Zurich where he later become design director for the prestigious Swiss publisher/printer Orell Fussli. This beautiful piece, part of an exclusive line of incredibly high quality commemorative edition Giclee prints, is printed on a thick, 100% acid free, imported heavy archival stock. The finest museum standard archival water-based organic inks and paints are used to produce a stunningly brilliant piece with a rich, non-glare matte finish. It is a wonderful reproduction of a vintage ski gear advertising art poster for exclusive skiing equipment. This piece is new and in perfect condition. This looks wonderful framed in the home, office, restaurant, school or gym and is perfect for the skier or ski fan! This is a rare Giclee, and is unusual in that it is not mass produced. Other limited edition prints are produced by the hundreds or even thousands, while this piece is printed only one at a time, individually made by special order only. Very few have ever been printed.
