Pennsylvania Railroad Washington DC Poster The stacked perspective may not be geographically accurate, what with every monument and important landmark in the District of Columbia being visible from a single vantage point. But, it does, however, make for a compelling and persuasive poster for the Pennsylvania Railroads service to the nations Capital. It also was something of a motif when it came to the railroads advertising scheme for The City Beautiful. Eggleston doesn’t include a locomotive in his design – that might have got in the way of the exquisitely struck balance between elegance and a monumental style.
