n its heyday, the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroads main line sizzled with famous trains shuttling tycoons and business leaders between Bostons South Station and New York Citys Grand Central Terminal. As the population grew and the need for trains became more apparent, many railways updated their trains with modern engines, steam locomotives, streamlined designs and a bullet train model with comfort sleeper cars and other luxuries designed to entice travelers. The Flying Scotsman even installed a cocktail bar, as shown in the fine art reproduction of a travel ad from that time. In fact, travel ads and advertising posters were very common in the use of attracting travelers to ride trains across cities, countries and foreign lands.
